Overview
As part of the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA initiative, The Huntington presented an extensive exhibition exploring Latin America's art, science, and environmental connections. To deepen visitor engagement, I led the design and development of two interactive touchscreens. These touchscreens provided additional information in English and Spanish and facilitated exploration of The Florentine Codex.
Approach
Aligned with stakeholders to understand the exhibit's aesthetic and goals, ensuring the delivery of an intuitive digital experience accessible to all visitors.

Designed a user-friendly interface in English and Spanish for seamless navigation, incorporating accessibility features for an inclusive user experience.
Meticulously programmed touchscreens for smooth interaction and exploration of codex pages, focusing on stability and performance.
Challenges
Balancing comprehensive information with user-friendly design posed a challenge, requiring careful curation and layout optimization.

Implementing multilingual support involved translation coordination and interface adaptation to maintain consistency across languages.

Ensuring seamless integration with existing exhibit infrastructure and reliable performance in a museum environment demanded rigorous testing and refinement.
Results
Enriched visitor engagement and understanding of artworks and historical context.

Provided content in English and Spanish, catering to diverse linguistic preferences.

Received favorable feedback for interactive exploration and self-paced learning.
Ultimately, the Visual Voyages Exhibit Touchscreens effectively enriched visitor engagement and accessibility, bridging art, science, and history. Through a well executed UX design process, the digital experience beautifully fused with the physical elements of the exhibit, offering an immersive and educational experience while fostering cultural appreciation.
